Amethyst is also a beautiful, non-alcoholic botanical spirit - distilled in two invigorating flavors (at least for now). We had a little tasting party with both...and, oh my! Score! Totally jazzed with these NA gems, especially the Blueberry Ginger Mint because I have a "thing" for all three flavor components! The Lemon Cucumber Serrano is light and refreshing, too! 😋
The whole deal for us with trying new NA products is quality and flavor...and these definitely bring it! I would describe the taste for both as subtly sweet, fresh and really flavorful. The fruit and botanical notes shine, indeed - you capture the essence of blueberry, cucumber, mint, etc. And, from the first sip, you're gifted a surprising, yet unforgettable vapory kick! 😛
Amethyst was developed by two brothers who started a craft whiskey distillery in the South Carolina Lowcountry. They discovered that twenty percent of the population chooses not to drink alcohol so, in an effort to appeal to all of their customers and a new clientele, they crafted a unique non-alcoholic spirit. The brand promotes wellness, balance, and the spirit of inclusion. As do we.
Fun facts: 🤓
the meaning of Amethyst is "not intoxicated" and the name translates from the Greek word améthystos.
the serrano is a type of chili pepper that is commonly used to make giardiniera.
The bottles are packaged in a lovely box, they're tall and clean (perfect for a social gathering) and the taste is true-to-description.
Bonus: they're low calorie!
A 1.5 oz. serving of Lemon Cucumber Serrano contains 13 calories.
A 1.5 oz. serving of Blueberry Ginger Mint contains 8.5 calories.
We'll experiment with cocktails using Amethyst, but they're truly awesome as a stand alone shot glass sipper with ice, or mixed at a 1:1 ratio with a splash of soda or tonic (to make it last longer)! 😉
Simply put, both options are sensational, versatile bar additions!
Cheers to tasty NA cocktails!
